Master Gunner R. A.
✓ B Block, Kennedy Road.
Father of Mary and Michael 8 on 11th May. Michael was about 1" taller than Mary.
Very active little boy.
On afternoon of 22nd June, I got home about 2.30 p.m.
Mrs.Pine and Mary were in house.
I had tiffin.
About 3 p.m. Michael came in.
Then all went out except myself, about 3 p.m. or little before.
I finished tiffin and lay down to read paper until 3.15.
Then I heard people shouting outside.
I went out to tell them to be quiet.
I got a report from the amah.
I went out and down to Peak Tram.
I then saw Mary being carried up home.
I ran to her.
She told me something and I ran on to Tram Station. Then I met Andrews.
I then ran to No.3 Bridge, and down to the tunnel.
There I was stopped.
I went back and met my wife at the Tram Station.
Next day I went to the G.C.H.mortuary and identified my son's body.

Eric Davies 8.8. xd. Fraser.
I am 8 years old.
I go to Church and attend Sunday School.
I know it is wrong to tell lies.
I have been told what an oath means.
It is a solemn promise before God to tell the truth.
I have been told that if I tell lies I may be punished and put in prison.
I live with my parents at No.10 C.Block.
I remember the day the children were in the nillah.
It was the last time I played with Michael Pine.
It was in evening.
We went down by nullah on bridge near the Peak Tram.
Michael, Mary, Norman, Tony Flood, another girl and I were there.
We were throwing stones into the nullah down stream.
We were standing at the side of the bridge on the tramway side.
I am not quite sure how far we were from the railings, close to it. We were facing towards the Peak Tramway.
We were all on the same side of the bridge.
Just before that we had been in the playground playing.
After a while I went home to get a drink.
None of the others went with me.
As I went up the road and was nearly home, I heard a scream,
I could see the bridge.
I ran back and saw Fay Bromley in the water and Tony Flood on right side of nullah.
I didn't see any of the other children there.
Fay Bromley was the other little girl who was playing with us. I saw nobody else there.
That day we didn't go down into the nullah.
We were standing all bunched together.

When I went away for a drink I can't remember what the other children were doing.
I saw no one else on the bridge.
All the others were throwing stones into the nullah.
They got stones from the banks by the bridge.
I can't remember who suggested throwing stones.
We were all on the floor of the bridge.
